Why We're Calling for Women to Get Back to Homemaking

Welcome to the Back to Homemaking Collective, a coalition of dozens of women who have joined forces to start a new revolution in homemaking.

We are living in an age when women have more opportunities than ever before to launch careers, enter higher education, and participate in government and politics.

And yet, so many women and mothers feel their hearts pulling them to be more oriented towards their homes and in creating a loving, intimate environment for those they love.

If this is you, you’ve come to the right place!

We are here to support women who feel the call of building homes and leaving legacies beyond professional status, income, or fame.

The world might tell us that homemaking is belittling, but we know from the Word of God that homemaking is a time-honored calling, one that requires the tact, shrewdness, and managerial skills of the Proverbs 31 woman as well as the generational tradition and gentle hearts of Titus 2 keepers of the home.

Over the last three years, it has become apparent to millions of families that home is a truly sacred place.

The families we raise and how we love on those who reside under our roofs spell out the future for our society, and as we look back on a century of widespread industrialization, radically shifting cultural values, and a growing divide between our day-to-day life and the food and remedies we consume, many are starting to wonder if the best way forward is by taking a few steps back.

We all know the adage “home is where the heart is;” well, we believe that home is where the heart should be — as we all look towards building healthier, happier, more functional homes that center around hearths tended by dedicated homemakers.

Everyone needs a home, and whether you are married with children, living with family members, or on your own, real change truly starts at home, with the skills, know-how, and motivation to turn the simplest living space into a place of refuge and restoration from this crazy world.

We know that many modern women are navigating their way through homemaking without the advantage of having learned these skills growing up.

This is why we are here to provide the tools and resources you need to launch a lifelong habit of learning and growing, because we believe that anyone can be a good homemaker with the right confidence and attitude.

It’s not about perfection, spotlessly clean homes, or stylish décor — homemaking is so much more than these things.

Homemaking is a calling through which we become Christ’s hands and feet, showing His love through the care we take to tend to the ones we love.

If you are feeling this call like we are, stick around, and we’ll start this revolution together.

I was so happy to see your group. I was a homemaker when all my friends were out in the world making a name for themselves in business. The sacrifice was well worth it! We as women partner with God to bring His spirits into this world and I am proud to have been the one to nurture my own children and provide a loving home for my family.
